Okay I just signed onto National Novel Writing Month which is some fabulously insane global party to write a 50,000 word novel in November. Which, in case anyone forgot, is 30 days long.
I've never written a novel, have no earthly clue how to write a novel, in fact. (Starting several, having lots of ideas for others doesn't count, I suspect.) Longest thing I've ever finished was about 2,500 words, less than 2 days worth in the Nano month-long challenge. Which leaves me with 28 more days worth of words, which feels utterly impossible.
But what the hell. I really want to learn how to write a novel. So why not learn through some ridiculous trial-by-fire? I hear last year Tom Robbins sent everyone a pep email during week 3 -- just the hope is enough encouragement for me ...
Wish me luck. And will someone send me some extra hours of sleep around Thanksgiving?
