There's the straight bio ... born & raised a preacher's kid in New York, top of the high school class in Vegas, college & graduate school in Santa Barbara, 20+ years as a consultant helping non-profit & public agencies around the country improve what they do, columnist & freelance writer ... and genuinely loving all of it.

Then the current personal facts ... lovely husband raising my Darling Daughter and his Sweet Boy; too many dang 4 legged creatures; happily snug in our small Appalachian college town but in my old house that's a little too tight.

And the weirder stuff ... a woo-woo history lifetimes long, from an ancient Egyptian priestess to an African despot, a quiet Latin American peasant with a long happy life to a short brutish sentence in a rat-filled tenement. This incranation I've happily tried just about every soundly-researched alternative, unproven but appealing new agey, or completely weird-ass modality, treatment, exercise out there. And find them all entertaining as can be. Whether they don't work or they do (and some do miraculously, especially Bombay School homeopathy, classical -- not so much traditional -- Chinese medicine, Resonance Repatterning, and whatever unlabelled things my friends Joanne Williams & Iva Nasr do).
